Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge will be out for several weeks after suffering a hamstring injury against Newcastle, according to reports.
The striker felt a problem after coming off the bench in the Reds 2-0 defeat at St James Park and a scan on Tuesday confirmed that he suffered a strain that will keep him out until the new-year.
Sturridge had just returned to action after knee and foot problems and now faces another spell on the sidelines.
The former Chelsea man has made just six appearances so far this season and leaves Liverpool light of options up front, with only Christian Benteke and Divock Origi fully fit among their out-and-out strikers.
