Madrid not planning Mourinho return

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has ruled out bringing Jose Mourinho back to the club in the immediate future.

Mourinho is without a job following Chelsea's decision to sack him on Thursday in response to the club's dismal start to the season.

With Madrid struggling under Rafael Benitez, they are five points behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, there were suggestions that the Spanish club would look to bring Mourinho back in, but Perez has no plans to make him their next manager.

"Nobody can predict the future but right now he is not going to come to Madrid," Perez told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.

"Benitez is capable of solving the problems we have. That's the only option we're considering.

"We have very good memories of Mourinho, he raised our competitive level (when he was manager)."
