Ryan Moore is to take a break from riding on the advice of a specialist.
Moore last rode at Deauville on Sunday before jetting off on holidays with his family and it is unclear when he will be back in the saddle.
He has been complaining of pain in recent weeks and a specialist has advised him to take a clean break to ensure he is fit for the busy autumn schedule.
"I have been a bit sore for the last couple of weeks and been advised by a specialist that complete rest is the best option," Moore said in a statement released to Press Association Sport.
"I'm not going to rush it as I want to be 100 per cent for all the major races in the autumn so I'm going to play it by ear, but hope to be back soon."
Moore will be hoping to be fit to return ahead of York's Ebor Festival, which begins on August 17.
