Aguero fires Man City to win at Burnley

Sergio Aguero netted twice, as Manchester City came from behind to beat Burnley 2-1 in the Premier League's early match at Turf Moor.

A third successive Premier League win on the road sees City and Liverpool level on 30 points at the top of the table, after Jurgen Klopp's side beat Sunderland 2-0 at Anfield later on Saturday..

Dean Marney scored his first Premier League goal since November 2009 to give Sean Dyche's side the lead with an inch-perfect volley past goalkeeper Claudio Bravo from the edge of the City area.

Aguero drew City level before half-time with a poked finish beyond Burnley goalkeeper Paul Robinson, making his first Premier League appearance being relegated with Blackburn in May 2012 following a calf injury to Clarets' captain Tom Heaton.

It wasn't the most fluent of performances from the Argentina international, who was a doubt for the game following a knock to his foot in Wednesday's 1-1 Champions League draw with Borussia Dortmund, but he took his season tally to 16 goals in all competitions with the winner on the hour mark via his knee from Fernandinho's cross.

Ashley Barnes saw a stoppage-time overhead kick saved by Bravo, but City, well marshalled by Nicolas Otamendi, held on to secure their ninth win of the Premier League season.

City's next assignment is a top-of-the-table clash with Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, while Burnley face Stoke City at the Bet 365 Stadium later on the same day.
