Alberto and Markovic leave Liverpool

Liverpool has sold Luis Alberto to Lazio for a £4.3million.

Alberto moved to Anfield from Sevilla in the summer of 2013 for £6.8million, but he failed to make an impact and managed just 12 appearances for the club.

The 23-year-old caught the eye of Lazio during a loan spell at Deportivo La Coruna last season and they have beaten off competition from Sevilla to sign him on a permanent deal.

The deal includes add-ons for Lazio's European qualification and a 30 per cent sell-on clause.

Meanwhile, Lazar Markovic has agreed to join Sporting on a season-long loan.

Markovic had previously ruled out a return to Portugal but the 22-year-old has signed a deal that will see him reunite with coach Jorge Jesus.
