Altior among Clarence House entries

Altior could bid to maintain his unbeaten run over fences in the Clarence House Chase at Ascot later this month.

The Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner has impressed since making the switch to fences this season, winning all three of his starts, including the Henry VIII Novices' Chase at Sandown and the Wayward Lad Novices' Chase at Kempton last month.

Nicky Henderson's charge is the warm favourite for the Arkle Trophy at the Cheltenham Festival but he could be tested against seasoned campaigners in the January 21 feature at Ascot.

Just nine horses have been entered in the race but they include Willie Mullins' Tingle Creek Chase winner Un De Sceaux, who won the Grade One 12 months ago, and recent Desert Orchid Chase hero Special Tiara from Henry de Bromhead's yard.

2014 winner Sire De Grugy was a faller in the Desert Orchid Chase last time but he could look to make amends for trainer Gary Moore, who is also responsible for Ar Mad.

Dodging Bullets won the Clarence House in 2015 and he has been entered by Paul Nicholls, while Jonjo O'Neill could saddle Eastlake.

The entries are completed by the Philip Hobbs-trained Royal Regatta and Top Gamble from Kerry Lee's yard.
