Anichebe blow for Sunderland
Sunderland's hopes of beating the drop have been dealt a blow with the news that striker Victor Anichebe could miss up to ten weeks with a knee injury.
Anichebe was injured during his side's 2-0 loss to West Brom but managed to finish the game at The Hawthorns.
Scans have confirmed the 28-year-old suffered medial ligament damage which will keep him sidelined for around ten weeks.
Sunderland are already without Duncan Watmore to leave Jermain Defoe as the only fit striker in the squad and manager David Moyes faces a battle to bring in a new forward before the end of the transfer window.
