Annie to miss Punchestown

Annie Power will sidestep Friday's BETDAQ Punchestown Champion Hurdle.

Having won at both Cheltenham and Aintree, the mare had been the hot favourite to add the Grade 1 to her list of successes this season.

However, trainer Willie Mullins was not completely happy with her condition and, following Yorkhill and Vautour's surprise defeats on the first day of the festival, connections have decided to call time on her season.

"We just weren't 100 per cent happy with her over the last couple of days and decided not to declare her," Mullins stated.

"The way Vautour and Yorkhill, who like her were at Aintree, performed on Tuesday was a factor in our decision, so we thought it best not to run her. She's done enough for the season, winning the Champion Hurdle and the Aintree Hurdle."

Mullins has declared Vroum Vroum Mag and Sempre Medici in the two-mile feature, while Nicky Henderson looks set to saddle Champion Hurdle runner-up My Tent Or Yours.

Identity Thief, Ted Veale and Fethard Player also remain in the mix.
