Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter is a doubt for Ireland's World Cup qualifiers next week after being ruled out of Saturday's Premier League game against Leicester City.
The 27-year-old was named in Martin O'Neill's provisional squad for the games against Moldova in Dublin on 6 October, and Wales in Cardiff three days' later, despite missing Bournemouth's Premier League meeting with Everton last weekend with an Achilles injury.
But Cherries' manager Eddie Howe confirmed on Friday that the midfielder is not fit enough to face Leicester at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
"The problem isn't a serious one, but he is injured and hasn't trained with the group this week," Cherries' manager Eddie Howe said on Friday.
O'Neill is already without the suspended James McClean and Robbie Brady for the visit of Moldova, while Jon Walters and James McCarthy are injury doubts for the Group D double-header.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman said on Friday that McCarthy "needs game time in the Under-23s" before being considered for a first-team recall at Goodison Park following a knee injury, while Burnley forward Walters will miss Saturday's Premier League game at Everton with his own knee injury.
"It's pretty straight foward in terms of what it is, it's just allowing it time to calm down," Burnley manager Sean Dyche said.
