Aubameyang and Lacazette may start together

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has hinted that he may start both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyeng and Alexandre Lacazette against Chelsea in Saturday's Premier League evening kick-off.

The two London sides clash in a mouthwatering battle at Stamford Bridge, which you can watch on the eir sport pack on BT Sport 1 [kick-off 5.30pm], with Emery facing off against another newly appointed manager in Chelsea's Maurizio Sarri,

Aubameyang started the Gunners' opening league clash against Manchester City, which they lost 2-0, but Emery's side looked more dangerous when he brought Lacazette on to partner Aubameyang  after 54 minutes.

"The possibility to play Aubameyang and Lacazette is okay because we tried that in pre-season and also last year they played together," Emery said.

"It is the performance that says to us how we can play.

"We tried in pre-season and we try in training to play each of the conditions for every player.

"Each match if different, it is a different possibility. Against Manchester City, the last 25, 30 minutes they played together."

However, Emery also stopped short of saying both strikers will start, referencing "balance" as the most important element of his side's setup.

Emery continued: "For me it is about finding a good balance for all that we want in attacking and defensive moments.

"I want to look at every player together, how to get Aubameyang and Lacazette scoring more goals, whether as one or together.

"I want to give them the chances in each match and maybe we need a lot of matches for every player.

"In September we will start playing Sunday and Thursday. We are going to play more matches and I think every player will get chances to show us his performance for the team."
