West Brom desperately need to bring in new players before the transfer window closes at the end of the month, manager Tony Pulis has stated.
The Baggies have signed Matt Phillips ahead of the new season but have been heavily linked with a move for Liverpool striker Christian Benteke.
With just over two weeks to go before the transfer window closes, Pulis admits the club are looking to strengthen and he hopes to conclude his transfer business as soon as possible.
"We have only two weeks to try to get players in which we desperately need. We certainly need to do business," Pulis told reporters ahead of Saturday's Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.
"I met with Mr Lai [new owner Guochuan Lai] last week and he seems really enthusiastic which is good to see. It's a great club and we need to focus.
"The most important thing for this football club is to get players in and we need to get them in quickly.
"There are lots of players we are interested in."
One player who could be on the way out of the club is Saido Berahino with Stoke keen to sign the 23-year-old before the transfer deadline.
Berahino struggled for form last season after failing to secure a move away from The Hawthorns, but Pulis is pleased with his condition ahead of the new season.
"Saido is in a better position this year than he has ever been. He is fit and he has his head down working hard," Pulis said.
