Bardsley out until New Year
Stoke City defender Phil Bardsley is expected to be out until the New Year with the knee injury he sustained against Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Stoke City right-back limped off after 57 minutes of the 1-0 defeat at the Bet365 Stadium, and subsequent scans confirmed the 31-year-old Scotland international will be sidelined for five weeks.
However, Glen Johnson has recovered from the thigh problem that has kept him sidelined since the start of October, and the 32-year-old former England defender is expected to start against Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday.
In other news, Austria international Marko Arnautovic says Real Madrid or Barcelona are the only clubs that could persuade him to leave Stoke City.
The 27-year-old, who has scored 17 goals in 104 Premier League appearances for Stoke since signing from Werder Bremen in 2013, signed a new four-year deal with the Potters in July.
"I'm always on the pitch with the goal of giving my best and helping my team," he told Transferboom.
"I have only just extended my contract so a transfer is not an issue for the time being. But the usual rumors will probably still exist.
"Of course, if Real or Barca would ask, but the focus and concentration is 100 per cent on Stoke City and my team here."
