Paddy Barnes has been added to Michael Conlan's St Patrick's Day bill at Madison Square Garden.
Barnes was stopped by Cristofer Rosales at Windsor Park last August and he missed the opportunity to fight on Frank Warren's December card in Manchester when the evening ran late, resulting in his bout being scrapped.
The 31-year-old will return to the ring on St Patrick's Day when he will make his US debut against American Oscar Mojica at Madison Square Garden.
Conlan will headline the fight night with a bout against Mexico’s Ruben Garcia Hernandez, while his Olympic conqueror Vladimir Nikitin has also been added to the bill.
Nikitin defeated Conlan in the quarter-finals at Rio 2016, albeit in controversial circumstances, and the Russian will be hoping to take on the Belfast boxer later in the year, providing he overcomes Juan Tapia at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden.
“The fight I want after I take care of business on 17 March is Michael Conlan,” Nikitin said.
"He wants revenge, and I want to show everyone that I was, and still am, the superior fighter. I respect Michael and his team. While there is no bad blood outside the ring, we have unfinished business inside the ring."
Conlan added: “Nikitin is a rival from the 2016 Olympics and clearly someone who I look forward to fighting in the professional ranks. This is the second time we’ve fought on the same card, and I look forward to seeing his progress as a professional.”
