Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Hector Bellerin will miss up to four weeks after picking up an ankle injury against Tottenham.
Bellerin emerged as a doubt for Saturday's Premier League trip to Manchester United after he withdrew from the Spain Under-21s squad last week and Wenger has now revealed that the right-back suffered an injury in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham on November 6.
“Hector is out for about four weeks. He was injured in the last 10 seconds against Spurs," Wenger told his pre-match press conference on Thursday.
As well as the trip to Old Trafford, Bellerin will miss the Premier League games against Bournemouth, West Ham United, Stoke City and Everton, as well as the Champions League group matches against Paris Saint-Germain and Basel.
Meanwhile, Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will be assessed by the medical staff before a decision is made on his availability for Saturday's game.
Sanchez suffered an injury scare while on international duty but he went on to play in the World Cup qualifier against Uruguay, scoring twice in the 3-1 win.
"He played recovering from a hamstring injury. I understand he is keen to play for his country," Wenger explained.
"I don't know how bad his injury was and we have to trust the medical department of Chile. I will see him tomorrow and we have to wait and see if he can be involved in our squad."
