Bolt to lose one Olympic medal

Usain Bolt is to lose one of his nine Olympic gold medals after Jamaican team-mate Nesta Carter tested positive for a banned substance.

Bolt completed an unprecedented 'triple triple' in Rio last summer when he won gold in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay to add to his successive at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.

However, he will have to hand back the medal he won as part of the 4x100m relay team in Beijing in 2008 after Carter tested positive for the banned stimulant methylhexaneamine.

Carter was tested on the evening that Jamaica won gold in a then world record time of 37.10 seconds, finishing ahead of Trinidad and Tobago and Japan, but his sample 'was one of 454 selected for retesting by the International Olympic Committee last year.

His A sample was found to contain methylhexanamine, which has been on the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited list since 2004, with Carter and the Jamaican National Olympic Committee informed of the findings in May.
