Fabio Broini has sealed a transfer to AC Milan, the Serie A giants have revealed.
The 26-year-old has joined the Rossoneri on loan initially before the switch is turned into a permanent move.
Despite only scoring 15 league goals in his previous five seasons and a total of 30 since making his debut in the 2009/10 season, the Italian will now add the seven-times European champions to Chelsea, Swansea City, Roma, Liverpool and Sunderland as the illustrious clubs he has represented in a nomadic career.
A statement from AC Milan read: "AC Milan announce the signing of Fabio Borini from Sunderland AFC. The contract implies the player will join the club on loan with obligation to buy.”
The once-capped Italy international moved to the Stadium of Light in 2015 after impressing in a season-long loan two years previously but he endured a disastrous time in the northeast, scoring only six goals in 42 appearances over the last two seasons.
Borini could do little to help Sunderland in their ultimately losing battle to avoid relegation and it is now AC Milan who have decided to take a chance on the striker.
