Borthwick-Jackson joins Wolves

Manchester United left-back Cameron Borthwick-Jackson will spend the rest of the season on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Injuries to Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Antonio Valencia saw Borthwick-Jackson break into the United first-team last season and he went on to make 14 appearances for Louis van Gaal.

Despite enjoying a run in the first-team, the 19-year-old has been told by new boss Jose Mourinho that he is not in his immediate plans for the club and he was advised to seek a loan move away from Old Trafford.

Wolves have taken full advantage by signing the left-back on a season-long loan and he will be joined at the Championship side by winger Ola John, who has agreed to spend the rest of the campaign in England.

"(Jose) Mourinho has told me I've got a future at United so the plan is to get as much experience here," Borthwick-Jackson told the club's media channel.

"I want to fight for a first team spot when I go back there because I've been assured my future is there.

"I've had interest from plenty of clubs, Premier League clubs even but I'm excited to get started here - Wolves have been interested in me for some time."
