Swansea have sacked manager Francesco Guidolin and appointed Bob Bradley as his replacement.
Guidolin was named Swansea manager on a six-month deal in January, succeeding Garry Monk, and went on to sign a two-year contract after guiding the club to 12th in the Premier League.
However, the Swans currently sit 17th in the Premier League table having failed to register a win since the opening day of the season.
Ahead of Saturday’s Premier League defeat to Liverpool, Guidolin revealed he had met with chairman Huw Jenkins to discuss his future and admitted he could be sacked if his team failed to beat the Reds.
Speaking shortly after the 2-1 loss, the Italian insisted he was not bother about speculation over his future but he has become the first Premier League manager to be sacked this season.
Confirming Guidolin's departure, Jenkins said: “We are obviously disappointed to part company with Francesco.
“We felt he deserved his opportunity after the work he did last season. Unfortunately we have not been able to carry performances over from last season and we felt we needed to change things as soon as possible in order to move forward in a positive way.
“We would like to thank Francesco and his staff for their services to the club and wish them well for the future."
Ryan Giggs had been linked with the position but the club have wasted little time in appointing former United States national coach Bob Bradley as Guidolin's successor.
Bradley will take over after Swansea agreed his release from French club Le Havre.
“He is highly regarded as a coach and has a wealth of experience on the international and domestic front," Jenkins said.
“He is well aware of the club’s footballing philosophy and will provide us with strong leadership qualities and a renewed belief to compete at this level.
“It is never easy changing managers, but we are looking at a long-term appointment and we are confident Bob can settle us down and stabilise matters on and off the pitch.”
Three members of Guidolin’s backroom team - Diego Bortoluzzi, Gabrielle Ambrosetti, Claudio Bordon - have also been released.
