Bob Bradley says he is "looking forward to the next challenge" following his sacking by Swansea City on Tuesday night.
Bradley, who was the first American to manage a Premier League club, lasted just 85 days at the Liberty Stadium after replacing Francesco Guidolin in October.
Swansea picked up just eight points from 11 matches under Bradley, with the board calling time on his short-lived spell after the 4-1 St Stephen's Day home defeat to West Ham.
The 58-year-old, who previously managed the USA, Egypt and Norwegian club Stabaek and French second division club Le Havre, says he hopes to return to football as quickly as possible.
"I knew exactly what I was getting into when I came to Swansea and realised the hardest part was always going to be getting points in the short run," he told NBC's Pro Soccer Talk.
"But I believe in myself and I believe in going for it. That's what I've always told my players.
"Football can be cruel and to have a chance you have to be strong.
"I wish Swansea the best and look forward to my next challenge."
First team coaches Alan Curtis and Paul Williams will take temporary charge Swansea's home game against Bournemouth on New Year's Eve, but former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says he would be keen to talk to the Swans' board about taking over on a permanent basis.
"I think if the opportunity and the challenge came up it would be one that would be interesting," the 69-year-old told Talksport
"It's a good club Swansea. Where they've come from and what they've done. You go there and the atmosphere is absolutely fantastic for their games at home."
