Bravo on brink of City move

Claudio Bravo is on the brink of signing for Manchester City after Barcelona admitted they are negotiating his transfer.

New City boss Pep Guardiola is on the look for a new goalkeeper who can fit in with his style of building from the back, judging Joe Hart to be incapable of this and dropping him to the bench.

Hart's replacement Willy Caballero however, does not fit the bill of a composed ball-playing goalkeeper and so City have been attempting to purchase Bravo or his Barca team-mate Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

A deal for Bravo is likely now after Barcelona confirmed they are open to his sale.

“We have the beginning of an agreement with Manchester City for Claudio Bravo," Barcelona technical secretary Robert Fernandez said. "“We are awaiting events this week. When Claudio leaves, we hope to have a new keeper.”

The summer transfer window remains open until the end of August so the clubs have plenty of time to finalise the deal.
