Brazil set for rain during Sunday's crucial F1 race

?Brazil seems set for a rainy potential Formula 1 one decider with rain falling in Interlagos today.

A steady downpour this morning means the track is soaked, while there is more rain predicted to fall during the race itself this afternoon.

A win in Brazil for championship leader Nico Rosberg will secure the drivers' crown. However, the German starts behind team-mate and title rival Lewis Hamilton on the grid, with the Britain taking pole in South America.

Rosberg knows a podium finish in today and the final race of the season Abu Dhabi will secure the championship, while Hamilton must win both race and hopes for a Rosberg slip-up in order to erode a 19-point differential between the two drivers.

Hamilton has also said rain could indeed help in his search for a breakthrough, with a slippy surface in Brazil potentially taking Rosberg into fourth or lower and changing the dynamic of the title run-in.

"You often want a wet race when you're further behind to give you an opportunity to get further ahead," Hamilton said. "But I guess in this scenario I'm on pole but I'm actually behind in points, so it wouldn't be so bad if it did rain.

"Honestly, I feel prepared for either scenario - and I love either scenario. I love driving in the wet, of course it makes it more of a lottery, so I feel like we are prepared and ready for whatever comes."

Hamilton is renowned as one of the best rain-masters in F1 and will fancy his chances of retaining pole advantage in those circumstances and has already won two rainy race days in this year’s calendar at the British and Monaco GPs.
