Brown doubtful for Linfield clash

Captain Scott Brown is a doubt for Celtic's Champions League first-round qualifier against Linfield after limping out of their 9-0 victory over Shamrock Rovers.

The 32-year-old lasted just 30 minutes before been substituted off, and Hoops' boss Brendan Rogers says the club will monitor the situation.

"[His Achilles] was a little bit sore and we just need to assess that over the next couple of days," Rodgers told Celtic TV. "Nothing too serious."

The potential absence of Brown from the cruch clash, which is live on eir sport 1, kick off 17.00, coupled with Dedryck Boyata's ruptured knee ligaments, who be sidelined for at least three months, comes as a huge blow for Celtic, as they travel to Belfast on Friday.

Moussa Dembele marked his return from injury with a goal in the Tallaght Stadium, before Jonny Hayes found the net on his first appearance for the Bhoys.
