Chris Brunt is closing in on a return to first team action.
Brunt ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the Baggies' 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace in late February and he underwent reconstructive surgery which ruled him out of representing Northern Ireland at Euro 2016.
He has returned to training with his team-mates and he is on target to return to the first-team next month.
"Chris is making good progress – he’s doing well and now back in training. Obviously, we need to balance that with the fact that he has been out for the last six months," West Brom's Director of Performance Dr Mark Gillett told the club's official website.
“We will make sure he is carefully managed over the next few weeks.”
Brunt spent the summer working on his recovery and Dr Gillett has praised the way in which he put his disappointment behind him to focus on his rehabilitation.
“I think Chris has shown a lot of character throughout his recovery. That was a big disappointment and while the tournament was on he has worked all through the summer," he explained.
“But it does mean he is really looking forward to first team football again just as much as we are looking forward to having him available again.”
