Jack Butland has undergone surgery on the fractured ankle he suffered while on international duty with England.
Butland was injured in the first half of England's 3-2 win over Germany on Saturday night and had an operation on Tuesday night.
The injury is almost certain to rule the 23-year-old goalkeeper out of Euro 2016 but he has vowed to come back stronger.
"Morning guys, very pleased to say the operation was successful! I'm 3 more screws closer to a walking toolbox!," Butland tweeted on Wednesday morning.
"But seriously, this is where the hard work begins! I can't wait to get stuck into recovery and return better than ever! #BiggerBetter"
