Butland out for ten weeks

Goalkeeper recovers from ankle surgery

Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland has been ruled out for up to ten weeks with an ankle injury.

The England international underwent an operation on Monday to remove some scar tissue that had been affecting the tendon in his ankle.

Acording to Potters manager Mark Hughes, the operation was a success and the goalkeeper has already started rehabilitation.

"I saw Jack yesterday, for the first time since the operation," Hughes commented on Friday.

"All reports are it went really well. It was a little bit of scar tissue that was restricting the movement of the tendon in the ankle. That has all
been cleared out.

"The likelihood is that it will be somewhere between six to ten weeks when he comes back, and we are very hopeful the issue he has had is resolved now."
