Galway's Joe Canning and the Waterford pair of Jamie Barron and Kevin Moran have been nominated for the 2017 Hurler of the Year award.
But there is no place on the list for Gearoid McInerney, Galway's All-Ireland winner who the panellists on RTE's The Sunday Game nominated as their standout player of the year.
The Oranmore-Maree defender is one of 14 Galway players to make the 45-man All-Star shortlist, in a year Micheal Donoghue's side won their first Liam MacCarthy since 1988, the Leinster championship and the Allianz League title.
Of the 15-man Galway team that started their 0-26 to 2-17 All-Ireland SHC final win over Waterford on 3 September, only Jonathan Glynn misses out on an All-Star nomination.
Beaten All-Ireland finalists Waterford received 11 nominations, while Kilkenny received just two, the lowest since Brian Cody took over as Cats' manager in 1998.
Cork's Mark Coleman, Waterford's Conor Gleeson and Galway's Conor Whelan are the nominees for the Young Hurler of the Year award.
