Niall Carew has been retained as the manager of the Sligo inter-county football team for next season.
Carew led Sligo to the Connacht final in his first year in charge in 2015, and agreed a two-year extension at the end of his first Championship season following their qualifier defeat to Tyrone at Croke Park.
The Yeats County finished fourth in Division 3 of the National League this year, and, after their 1-21 to 1-13 preliminary round victory over New York, slumped to a nine-point defeat to Mayo in the Connacht SFC quarter-final .
Sligo beat Antrim 0-22 to 3-07 in the first round of All-Ireland SFC qualifiers, but were beaten 0-14 to 1-09 by Meath in the second-round qualifier in Navan.
Sligo’s management committee confirmed in a statement on Wednesday night that Carew and his backroom team for a fourth season.
"The Sligo GAA management committee has decided to retain Niall Carew in the position of senior inter-county football manager for the coming season," the statement read.
"The committee believes that the present management team are best placed to build on the efforts of recent years."
