Kilkenny have named former inter-county star DJ Carey has their under-21 hurling manager for the coming season.
Carey, one of the legends of the sport with nine All Stars and five All-Ireland titles to his name, succeeds Eddie Brenan in the role for the Cats, after the latter stepped down following his side’s defeat to Limerick in the All-Ireland final this year.
Forty-seven year old Carey’s previous managerial experience is with Carlow IT. The Kilkenny County Board will ratify Carey's back-room team in the coming weeks.
