Prop Martin Castrogiovanni is set to miss Italy's RBS Six Nations clash with Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday week.
The veteran front row has been banned for a fortnight for stamping on Scotland's Duncan Taylor in the 36-20 defeat in Rome.
The 34-year-old, who came on as a second-half replacement at the Stadio Olimpico, admitted the offence at a disciplinary hearing held in London on Wednesday and was issued with a fortnight's suspension.
Castrogiovanni will miss the March 12th clash with Ireland, but will be available to face Wales in the final round of games seven days later.
