Santi Cazorla is targeting a return to the Arsenal first-team after featuring for the club's Under-21 side on Tuesday night.
Cazorla has not played for the Gunners since sustaining a knee injury in the 1-1 Premier League draw at Norwich on November 29. He had been expected to make his comeback in March only for the Spain international to be struck down with an Achilles problem.
Following his return to training, Cazorla lined out of the Arsenal Under-21s as the beat Blackburn Rovers in the play-off semi-finals and with 60 minutes under his belt he is hoping he can help the first-team in their final two games of the season.
"I’m very happy to be back. It is a great feeling after five months. I need to keep up the hard work with my team-mates in the first team and I want to play the last two games," he told Arsenal Player.
"I would like to help the first team at the weekend against Manchester City. (Arsene Wenger) has the decision, but I will try to play at the weekend. We need to win the last two games as we want to finish in the top four.
"We need to fight until the end to try to get second place. If we win the last two games, we can do that. I want to help my team-mates."
