Petr Cech admits Arsenal's Premier League title ambitions have suffered a 'huge setback' following the defeat to Watford.
The Gunners were made to pay for a sluggish start as they conceded two goals inside the opening 13 minutes at the Emirates. Alex Iwobi managed to get one back for the home side but they were unable to reduce the deficit further as they suffered a fourth defeat of the season.
With Chelsea only managing a draw at Liverpool, a win for Arsenal would have seen them move to within six points of the Premier League leaders but instead they sit nine points adrift ahead of Saturday's trip to Stamford Bridge.
Reflecting on the defeat, Cech said: "This was a huge setback because this was the game we wanted to win.
"We wanted to put ourselves in a better position going into the weekend. I always say that at this level you cannot play 80 minutes, or 85. You have to play 90 minutes with full concentration and everybody on top of their game.
"We were second best in the first half. We made so many bad passes, we lost every challenge, we were simply second best, as I said.
"In the second half we improved, we had a lot of chances. I thought we were brilliant second half, but obviously we only scored one goal."
