Celtic crowned champions in Scotland

Victory over Aberdeen seals title

Celtic survived a determined comeback before eventually sealing a fifth Scottish Premier League title in succession with a 3-2 victory over Aberdeen at Parkhead.

An early brace from Patrick Roberts set the home side on their way as they dominated the first half against their closest rivals.

When Mikael Lustig added a third just after the break it looked like their 47th top tier title would be sealed with a routine victory.

But Aberdeen refused to lie down and hit back with two goals in seven minutes through Niall McGinn and Andrew Considine to quell the party atmosphere around the Glasgow stadium.

A draw would have been enough for the home side to seal the title and, although Aberdeen attacked right up to the final whistle, they couldn't find another goal as Celtic made it league championships on the trot.
