Chelsea and Mohammed Salah have been cleared of any wrongdoing related to his move on-loan to Roma for the 2015/16 season.
Fiorentina, where the winger played on a loan from Chelsea from January-May 2015, had lodged a case alleging breach of contract with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The Florence club felt they had first refusal on a loan deal for the 2015/16 season which was breached by the Egyptian by him instead linking up with Roma.
FIFA dismissed the claim 13 months ago and now CAS have followed suit.
A CAS statement read: “CAS has dismissed the appeal and confirmed the decision issued by the FIFA dispute resolution chamber on May 26, 2016 (FIFA DRC) in which Fiorentina’s claim for compensation of Euros 32 million was rejected.
“The CAS panel found that the player did not breach the employment agreement by returning to Chelsea FC after June 30, 2015 and that Chelsea FC did not induce the player to terminate the employment agreement without just cause.
“Accordingly, it dismissed the appeal and confirmed the FIFA DRC decision.”
Salah moved to Liverpool last month for a fee of €39m.
