Former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero has signed for Premier League champions Chelsea on a free transfer.
The 35-year-old was released from the Etihad Stadium at the end of his contract last month and will replace second choice goalkeeper Asmir Begovic at Stamford Bridge after the Bosnian agreed a deal to move to Stoke City in May.
The Argentine spent three seasons in Manchester after joining from Spanish side Malaga but spent most of his time as number two goalkeeper to first Joe Hart and then last season, to Claudio Bravo.
However, Caballero did spend stints between the sticks as first choice as the above mentioned duo suffered from loss of form and were dropped from the starting XI for periods.
He faces a tough challenge to usurp Thibaut Courtois as Antonio Conte's number one and instead has been signed to provide a high level of cover should the Belgian suffer an injury or loss of form.
"I am very happy to join the champions of England," he said. "I am looking forward to meeting the guys and helping the club achieve more success."
