Christy Ring Cup final set for replay

Antrim and Meath hurlers to meet again

The Christy Ring Cup final is set to be replayed following an error in the scoring which mistakenly awarded Meath a single-point victory over Antrim last Saturday.

However, following a meeting of the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee, it has been decided that the game will be replayed at Páirc Esler in Newry this coming Saturday at 7pm.

Referee John O'Brien admitted that he mistakenly tallied the final score as a 2-18 to 1-20 victory to Meath when the correct outcome should have been a 2-17 to 1-20 draw.

While, there were calls for a compromise which would have seen both sides playing in the Leinster SHC next season, something which was categorically ruled out earlier today by GAA president Aogan O'Fearghail, it has now been decided that the two sides must meet again.
