Orla Comerford is delighted to make the final of T13 100m despite finishing fourth of five runners in her heat.
Clocking a personal best of 12.81, the Raheny Shamrocks sprinter will race at 3pm on Sunday and will hope for a podium place.
Speaking to RTE, Comerford could hardly contain her excitement: "I was a little bit disappointed with the time, but I'm delighted I made a final, that was my aim, It's such an honour, such an exciting experience. I'm just really chuffed to make the final."
Comerford, who turns 19 on Wednesday also heaped praise on the support she has received.
"It's fantastic, an amazing atmosphere. the crowds are brilliant, they're full of life. It's great.
"I'm now just going to lay back, relax and take things easy, let the body recover. Hopefully I can run a little faster tomorrow!”.
