Michael Conlan has joined the professional ranks by agreeing a deal with American based promoter Top Rank Boxing.
The world amateur champion won bronze at the 2012 London Olympics but he was beaten in controversial circumstances by Russian Vladimir Nikitin in the quarter-finals in Rio last month.
Immediately after the unanimous points defeat the bantamweight signalled his intention to leave the amateur ranks and he has now confirmed he has joined Top Rank.
"It's done! #TopRank #TRBoxing" Conlan wrote on Twitter.
Founded by Bob Arum, Top Rank is best known for promoting former world champion Manny Pacquaio but they also have Jessie Vargas, Timothy Bradley and Vasyl Lomachenko on their books.
It has been reported that Conlan will compete at super-bantamweight and will fight at least six times in 2017.
