Connacht have signed Australia Under-20 fly-half Andrew Deegan from Super Rugby side the Waratahs ahead of the new PRO14 season.
The 22-year-old has previously played for his hometown club Randwick, the NSW Country Eagles as well as the Waratahs.
Randwick helped New South Wales Under-20s to back-to-back Championships in 2013 and 2014, and made his senior debut for Randwick in 2014 and his Australia Under-20 debut the following year.
Deegan graduated to the senior ranks with Randwick in 2014 before progressing to the Australia Under-20s in 2015.
He scored tries in 18 games, and 194 points in total, for Randwick last season and he also helped the NSW Country Eagles to the 2016 NRC finals and was the top points scorer in the Shute Shield.
"Andrew is a very highly-rated young player who has already gained a lot of experience in Australia. He has huge potential and we are delighted to welcome him to the province," Connacht assistant coach Nigel Carolan said.
