Conte can be a success - Allegri

Massimiliano Allegri has backed Antonio Conte to be a success in the Premier League if, as expected, he is appointed as the new manager of Chelsea.

Conte is the front runner to take over at Stamford Bridge in the summer and his decision to step down from his role as Italy head coach after Euro 2016 has fuelled speculation that he is on his way to the Premier League.

It has been reported that Conte has agreed a three-year deal to become the permanent successor to Jose Mourinho and Allegri believes his compatriot will be a success if he moves to England.

"Italian coaches are very good. Apart from some exceptional figures like Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho, we are among the best," Allegri told a press conference

"I don't know if Conte will go to Chelsea. I'm sure he'll do well if he does."
