Conte: Costa will stay

Antonio Conte is confident Diego Costa will stay at Chelsea.

Costa's future at Stamford Bridge was called into question in January following interest from the Chinese Super League as well as a training ground bust-up with Conte.

It has since been reported that he is close to agreeing a bumper new deal with the Premier League leaders with the striker's representatives currently negotiating new terms.

Conte believes the Spain international will remain with the club but he believes contract talks should be put on hold until the end of the season to allow him to focus on playing football.

"I don't know about this situation," Conte told reporters on Friday. "Now it is very important to be focused on the present and not look so far forward.

"At the end of the season we will see the situation. Yes I am confident [he will stay] but I repeat that it is important to keep the concentration on tomorrow's game.

"This situation is better at the end of the season."

More games than ever before! eir Sport will show 23 live games from the Allianz Leagues, including five triple headers. The eir Sport pack is free to eir residential broadband customers.
