Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has laughed off rumours that he is about to get the sack.
The rumours, which started earlier this week, gathered pace yesterday with some bookmakers making him odds-on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job while others suspended betting completely.
However, the Italian revealed on Friday that the rumours mean nothing to him and that he will continue to focus on the job at hand.
Speaking after the club announced a new £900m kit deal with Nike, the former Italian national coach said:
I take this with a smile. I'm trying to find who put the money (on)."
Conte was appointed to the Stamford Bridge hot-seat during the summer on a three-year contract, but his side have enjoyed a mixed start to their campaign which has included defeats to both Liverpool and Arsenal.
The Blues are currently seventh in the Premier League table, five points behind leaders Manchester City, as they prepare to welcome former mangers Claudio Ranieri and Jose Mourinho as Leicester and Manchester United head to London over the next two weekends.
Conte described the games as “two great challenges for us” but refused to be distracted from his own business.
"But in this moment I think we must think of ourselves and not of the other teams," he said.
