Conte not getting carried away

Antonio Conte is playing down Chelsea's chances of regaining the Premier League title despite their 13-match winning streak.

Saturday's defeat of Stoke was the Blues 13th successive win in the Premier League and they will move eight points clear of Liverpool if they maintain their unbeaten run against Tottenham on Wednesday evening.

Despite breaking the Premier League record with their winning run, Conte is refusing to get carried away with talk of the title and has warned his players to expect a tough test against Tottenham.

"This type of game gives you motivation. Now I think every team want to stop our run, not just Tottenham. If you see the table, we have only five points more than second place from Liverpool and seven points from Manchester City. The league is open. This is only the first game of the second part of the season," he said.

"This league is very tough. In every game you can lose points. It is important to stay focused in every game, whether you play Tottenham or another game.

"It is a great achievement for us. To win 13 games in a row is not easy. We are pleased for this. Tomorrow, we know that we have a tough game against Tottenham. It is a good team. For this reason we need to continue our run!"

Conte has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to White Hart Lane with Marcos Alonso and David Luiz available.

Alonso picked up a knock against Stoke City but will be fit for Wednesday's game, while Luiz is expected to feature despite suffering the effects of Sergio Aguero's tackle in the win over Manchester City at the start of December.

"David is playing in this situation [with pain] after the game against Manchester City. Now, I think he's improving," Conte explained.

"Now he's getting better, his physical condition and his pain is improving a lot."
