Daniel Cormier's fight with Jon Jones has been announced as the new headline event at UFC 200.
Conor McGregor had been due to headline the July 9 event in Las Vegas with a rematch against Nate Diaz, but he was pulled from the card for failing to fulfil media requirements for the bout.
News of McGregor's withdrawal came shortly after he announced his retirement from the sport, but the Dubliner claimed he was willing to fight at UFC 200 if the organisation reduced his media duties.
On Monday he took to Twitter to announce that 'he was back on the UFC 200 card', only for UFC president Dana White to deny his claims.
"We haven’t talked [to] Conor or his manager since the press conference. I don’t know why he would tweet that," White said.
Fans had hoped that an agreement would be reached to allow McGregor to fight on the card, but that looks unlikely with the news that a light heavyweight championship fight between Cormier and Jones will headline the event.
