Diego Costa and Juan Mata have been left out of Spain's provisional squad for Euro 2016.
Costa struggled for form in the first half of the season but found his scoring touch to end the campaign with 16 goals in all competitions, only to miss Chelsea's final two Premier League games against Liverpool and Leicester because of a hamstring injury.
Chelsea's interim manager Guus Hiddink revealed at the weekend that the striker was facing a race to be fit in time for the tournament and Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has opted to leave him out of his preliminary 25-man squad.
Mata, meanwhile, has been omitted despite making over 50 appearances for Manchester United, while Arsenal's Santi Cazorla will also miss out after missing several months through injury.
Del Bosque has opted to name Alvaro Morata, Aritz Aduriz and Nolito, which means there is no place for Atletico Madrid forward Fernando Torres.
Elsewhere, Hector Bellerin has been named on the standby list.
