Davy Fitzgerald is to step down as Clare hurling manager in the next 48 hours according to widespread reports.
Following on from last week's story in the Clare People, the Irish Examiner are claiming the 2013-winning boss' reign with Clare was confirmed to be at an end at Monday night's county panel meeting.
The Clare People had stated that some members of the county panel were privately in favour of Fitzgerald moving on and the Examiner are claiming that he will confirm his departure within the next 48 hours.
The paper also state that the players met on Monday night as well and are aware they will have a new manager for next season.
Having been appointed in 2011, the Sixmilebridge man will also be remembered for leading the Banner County to the Liam MacCarthy Cup two years later.
Clare have enjoyed mixed success in the following three years with the highlight being this season's National League title win.
