Day gearing up for Masters

Jason Day is ready to take his place in the field for this week's Masters at Augusta National.

Day withdrew just six holes into his first round at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play before revealing in an emotional press conference that his mother was battling lung cancer.

The Australian took a short break from the game in order to support his mother as she underwent surgery to treat her condition, but he played nine holes at Augusta on Friday and another nine on Saturday.

Providing there is no change in Dening's condition, Day will tee off on Thursday looking to better his runner-up finish in 2011.

The Masters is live on eir Sport. Coverage from Augusta National begins on Wednesday with the Par 3 Contest.
