Damien Delaney says Crystal Palace are already "more resilient" after just one two-hour training session under new manager Sam Allardyce.
Palace handed Allardyce a two-and-a-half-year deal on Friday, just a day after sacking Alan Pardew, and the former England boss took training on Christmas Eve before overseeing Monday's 1-1 draw at Watford.
"We haven’t had long with him but you can see we were a bit more resilient and looked better,"the Corkman said.
"We were solid. We looked better than we have done in the past.
"We will work on that again for the next week. It’s a point and a step in the right direction."
Allardyce, who was sacked as England boss in September after just 67 days after a newspaper sting, has never been relegated from the top flight as a manager.
"If the club was going to make a change I suppose there was only one man you would want to get the job," Delaney continued.
"The manager will bring resilience and good organisation like he has done with all his teams.
"It’s happened early enough in the season for him to come in and get his points across. With the firepower we have in our side, hopefully we will be okay."
