Deschamps: Pogba must do better

French boss Didier Deschamps admits Paul Pogba ‘must do better’ following his sides 4-1 victory over Bulgaria in the World Cup qualifiers.

Two goals from Kevin Gameiro, and a goal each for Antoine Griezmann and West Ham’s Dimitri Payet sealed a comfortable win for the former World Cup champions.

Pogba, who has been struggling since his return to Manchester United carried his club form to the International stage, much to the dismay of Deschamps.

"I don’t like evaluating one player individually. [Pogba] alternated between good things and less good things." Said the former Monaco boss.

"Paul can and must do better. He knows that.

"But he did not play in a position that highlights him. In this position, his role is more about the construction of the game. He has everything to do it.

"He did good things tonight. And some others that were less good."

Pogba will be hoping he can turn his form around when Manchester face Liverpool on the 17th of October at Anfield.

Conor McGregor will fight Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight belt at UFC 205 in New York on November 12 live on the eir Sport pack. The eir Sport pack is free to all eir broadband customers. To learn more about setting sport free visit www.eir.ie/sport .
