Eric Dier has signed a new five-year contract which will tie him to Tottenham until 2021.
Dier joined Tottenham from Sporting Lisbon ahead of the 2014-15 season and he marked his arrival with a goal on his debut as the club defeated London rivals West Ham.
Having switched to a holding midfield role for the 2015-16 campaign, the 22-year-old played a key role in Tottenham finishing in the top four to secure Champions League football.
"There are many reasons I wanted to commit my future to Tottenham," Dier said of his new contract.
"We have a fantastic squad full of young, exciting players. We've got the new stadium on its way, the fantastic facilities at the training ground, and a fantastic manager who's great for all us young players.
"He really looks after us, and makes sure we keep improving.
"Wembley being filled with 80,000 or more Tottenham fans is going to be an amazing experience. Playing in the Champions League there is very unique, so those two things are going to be fantastic."
In his two years at White Hart Lane, Dier has made 87 appearances and scored six goals, while he has represented England on 11 occasions
"We are delighted to announce that @ericdier has signed a new contract with the club which will run until 2021," Tottenham tweeted on Tuesday.
