Declan Bonner’s backroom team at Donegal was ratified by the county board last night in Ballybofey with Karl Lacey, John McElholm and Anthony McGrath included.
McElholm was announced as trainer, in the wake of coaching Killyclogher to the Tyrone club football title in 2016, as well as masterminding St Mary’s Magherafelt’s first-ever Ulster Colleges MacRory Cup title victory this year.
The trio join Paul McGonigle, Bonner’s assistant, in the brains trust for the 2018 league and championship season.
Lacey, a part of the 2012 All-Ireland winning team, was named as coach, alongside Gary Boyle. McGrath’s role in the coaching ticket will be sports science and psychology. The rest of the back-room team comprises of Cathal Ellis as head physio, Paul Fisher as strength and conditioning coach, Chris Byrne as video analyst and Ronan Doherty as nutritionist.
